Senior Bowl week is just underway and already some teams are tipping their hands as to the players they may be interested in. Whether chatting up a player after practice or pulling a prospect aside for a private meeting, here is a look at some of the early team interests we have uncovered.
The
Jacksonville Jaguars
have had conversations with
Washington
QB
Jake Locker
,
Miami
WR
Leonard Hankerson
,
East Carolina
WR
Dwayne Harris
,
Ohio State
LB
Ross Homan
and
Oregon
LB
Casey Matthews
. The big name is Locker, a potential first-round target for the Jaguars who could challenge the maddeningly inconsistent
David Garrard
.
The
Kansas City Chiefs
met with
Oklahoma
FS
Quinton Carter
, who could join with 2010 first-round pick
Eric Berry
to form an elite safety tandem.

The
Houston Texans
met with
Virginia Tech
DB
Rashad Carmichael
, who had two interceptions during Monday's North Team practice. That isolated fact may instantly make him an upgrade over every other player in Houston's historically inept secondary.
The
New England Patriots
, like the Jaguars, met with LB Casey Matthews, the younger brother of
Green Bay Packers
sackmaster
Clay Matthews
. Casey is not the player his brother is -- few are -- but his strong play invites as many comparisons as his genetics.
Baylor
offensive lineman
Danny Watkins
was scheduled for a private visit with the
Detroit Lions
immediately following Monday’s media dinner.
Another busy offensive lineman was
Mississippi State
OT
Derek Sherrod
, whose Monday included meetings with the Chiefs,
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
,
New Orleans Saints
and Jaguars.
The
San Diego Chargers
met with at least two players on Monday: Baylor NT Phil Taylor and WR Leonard Hankerson.
