Vikings guard Herrera ‘90 percent healed’

Guard Anthony Herrera said he is about 90 percent healed from ACL and triceps surgeries he’s had in the past eight months.

Vikings right guard Anthony Herrera told the News-Press in Fort Myers, Fla. he's about "90 percent healed" from ACL and triceps surgeries.

Herrera suffered a season-ending torn ACL on the opening possession against Green Bay on Nov. 21, and then underwent offseason triceps surgery, which slowed his rehab program a bit.

"I've just been hanging out with the family and trying to get back in shape," Herrera told the News-Press. "When (the season) comes, I want to hit the ground rolling."

Herrera, who played at Barron Collier High School nearby, was in Naples, Fla. for the "Big Ant's Kids Football Camp."

"Once July hits, you start getting a certain feel that you need to get back to work," Herrera told the paper. "I am very excited. By the time the season is over, you need a break. ... But I'd say that everybody is ready to get back to work."
