Reports: Jackson going to Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly agreed to terms on a deal with former Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson.

Tarvaris Jackson has agreed to terms on a deal with the Seattle Seahawks, according to reports out of Seattle.

Jackson, who wasn't given an offer by the Vikings even when there was a possibility he would be a restricted free agent, saw the handwriting on the wall when the Vikings gave his No. 7 to rookie Christian Ponder.

The Jackson signing reunites him with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who helped his maturation process with the Vikings. Jackson is expected to enter training camp as the frontrunner after it was announced earlier in the day that the Seahawks won't pursue signing veteran Matt Hasselbeck to a contract extension.

Terms of the deal likely won't be announced until Friday, when signings become official, but by all accounts, it would appear that he will be on the fast-track to being the starter since he knows Bevell's offense more than anyone on the team.

The Jackson signing could get Seattle in the sweepstakes to sign wide receiver Sidney Rice.
