RG3 clocks a 4.38

INDIANAPOLIS -- Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is as fast as advertised. The dynamic Heisman Trophy winner clocked two scorching times in the 40-yard dash Sunday morning. He ran a 4.41 on his first try, accelerating even faster on his second attempt with a 4.38 clocking. Once verified officially, that makes him the fastest quarterback to run at the NFL scouting combine.

A former All-American hurdler at Baylor, Griffin gave up the sport to concentrate fully on football.

He's projected as a top-five draft selection.

Sources told Scout that RG3 remains under consideration for the Indianapolis Colts' top overall pick and that the AFC South franchise isn't locked in 100 percent on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

"It's not a foregone conclusion that Luck is the guy," an NFL source said. "People love this RG3 kid. He's very impressive. They've got time to make this decision, so they'll be looking at both guys and seeing what fits best for what they want to do."
