Running back Isaiah Pead's earliest memories of playing football include his mother.
"My mom is a big football fan and we used to watch football a lot, throw the football around a lot, and I just fell in love with it," he said.
Pead was actually surprised to find out schools were offering him full scholarships to play college football.
"My mom never thought I'd be getting a scholarship to play for any college. She thought she would have to pay for it out of pocket so it was a blessing when I started getting scholarships to play football," he said.
Ultimately, Pead chose the Cincinnati Bearcats, a program that was close to home, and cites the coaches as a big part of his decision.
Pead was part of a three-time conference champion winning team and reflects fondly upon his time on campus while preparing for the next chapter in his football career.
The running back has spent close to two months training at the Athletes' Performance Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, where he's learning the importance of proper training, nutrition, and recovery.
FOX Sports NEXT had the chance to spend some time with Pead and go in-depth on his training schedule, his time with the Bearcats, and more:
