Drop-off pronounced in strong safety class

There is Mark Barron and then there are third-day prospects when talking about strong safeties this year. However, with the Vikings' lack of depth at the position, expect them to target one of the prospects on the draft's third day.

There is a limited supply of strong safety prospects for NFL teams to choose from this year, but one of the truly elite players, Alabama's Mark Barron resides here. Most of the other prospects appear to be third-day draft choices, at best. The Crimson Tide star played most of the season with groin and rib injuries, but he's the ideal prospect, as he has experience at both strong and free safety... Recommended Stories
