Harvin absent from Wednesday’s practice

Percy Harvin did not attend Wednesday’s voluntary practice with the Vikings, but Leslie Frazier said he didn’t think it was related to the shoulder.
Percy Harvin
’s return to practice lasted one day.
Because of shoulder surgery on April 24, Harvin spent the opening week of the
Minnesota Vikings
’ organized team activities off to the side running sprints, competing with
Adrian Peterson
running up a hill and catching passes from quarterbacks without going into pass patterns.
That all changed Tuesday, as the receiver with the most experience with the Vikings returned to the practice field. On Wednesday, however, when the practice was open to the media, Harvin was nowhere to be seen.
“He did a good job yesterday with his shoulder and we really thought things were going well for him and he wasn’t here today, but he’s done a good job in the time he’s been here. This was his first miss. Hopefully we’ll have him back tomorrow,” Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said.
Frazier didn’t think Harvin’s absence was related to his shoulder.
“Nothing that I’m aware of regarding the shoulder. It’s a voluntary camp, so hopefully we’ll have him back tomorrow,” Frazier said.
Last week, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said he wanted to give Harvin a big hug for showing up for voluntary workouts just to rehabilitate his shoulder.

Harvin led the team in receptions (87), receiving yards (967) and receiving touchdowns (six) last year.
Harvin wasn’t the only player missing Wednesday. Linebacker
Chad Greenway
, who missed the first week of OTAs because of a family matter, returned to practice on Tuesday. However, Frazier said Greenway called him at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to inform him that the family issue had taken a turn for the worse.
"He’s dealing with some major issues in his family," Frazier said. "But Chad is a loyal guy, he wants to be here. But he’s dealing with a serious matter."
Defensive end
Jared Allen
remains away from practices – he prefers to do his own offseason workouts – and Adrian Peterson was not out at practice rehabilitating his surgically repaired left knee, as he was last week.
Also missing was rookie running back
Derrick Coleman
, who has missed OTAs to this point because
UCLA
is still in session, and rookie receiver
Greg Childs
, who is still dealing with a calf strain suffered in rookie minicamp.
