Vendors to pitch products for Vikings stadium
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which will manage the new stadium, has put out a request for proposals from food and beverage, catering and concession services hoping to serve up grub to football fans. Construction on the new, $975 million stadium is supposed to get underway next year, with a hoped-for opening in 2016.
Time will tell if the new football stadium matches Target Field's showcase of Minnesota-grown food and drink. That stadium sells beer from Twin Cities brewers like Fulton and Surly, sausages from Minneapolis link experts Kramarczuk's (kruh-MARCH'-uck's), and other North Star State delicacies.
Potential vendors have until April 23 to submit proposals to the stadium authority.
