New Norseman logo
Posted Mar 29, 2013
The Vikings will unveil their new Nike uniforms at the draft party on April 25.
First it was the cosmetic surgery to the Vikings’ Norseman logo. Now the team’s wardrobe is going to undergo a makeover of its own.
In anticipation of next month’s annual Miller Lite Vikings Draft Party at Mall of America Field on April 25, the Vikings are going to unveil a new uniform design.
It is unclear how radical the changes will be, but, since the league changed its official licensed apparel contract from Reebok to Nike, several teams have undergone changes to their uniforms to mark the new jersey supplier. Some of them have been more pronounced (like the Miami Dolphins logo change) while others have been more subtle in the design of the uniform.
As part of the uniform change, the Vikings launched the “Vikings Uniform Insider” campaign. By taking part in the team’s official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, fans will get the chance to unlock 12 uniform teasers design to add to the excitement of the April unveiling. Those participating in the social media forum will receive an in-depth look at the new uniforms April 25.
The Vikings uniform design has undergone changes in the past, the last being a modification of white/purple stripes down the sides of the jersey following a similar design change started by the Denver Broncos. For those who want the newest and latest uniforms, you may want to wait until draft weekend, when not only will the uniform design be released, but they will become available for sale as well.
The Vikings announced Thursday that the team has re-signed linebacker
. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
didn’t stay unemployed for long. Jenkins, who was released prior to the start of free agency, signed with the New England Patriots Thursday.
From the “Shut Up, Dad” Department comes this: According to a report on the NFL’s official website, the father of wide receiver
said the Vikings offered the free agent receiver more money than Miami did, but he chose to sign with the Dolphins. If that’s true, it’s significant, because the Dolphins signed Wallace to a five-year $60 million contract with $27 million guaranteed.
