The Vikings made 19 cuts today as they reduced the roster from 75 to 53 players. The team might have considered reuniting with former Viking Antoine Winfield, who was also a cap casualty Saturday, but Winfield announced he is retiring.

The Vikings reduced their roster to 53 players by cutting 19 players today and making roster moves to get to the 53-man limit. There were rumors that the Vikings would seriously consider re-signing cornerback Antoine Winfield, who was one of the cuts earlier today of the Seattle Seahawks – less than six months after he was signed to a free agent contract. But Winfield announced he was retiring after being released.

The Vikings made several roster moves to get to the 53-man limit, but these are the players who were cut:

TE Colin Anderson

RB Joe Banyard

S Brandon Bishop

OL Travis Bond

CB Brandon Burton

WR Stephen Burton

DT Everett Dawkins

S Darius Eubanks

CB Bobby Felder

TE Chase Ford

OL Brandon Keith

DT Anthony McCloud

LB Tyrone McKenzie

OL Kevin Murphy

DE Spencer Nealy

DE D’Aundre Reed

WR Rodney Smith

WR Adam Thielen

DE Collins Ukwu

The Vikings didn’t release offensive lineman DeMarcus Love. Instead, the team receives a roster exemption for both him and Jerome Felton, both of whom were suspended by the NFL for violations of league rules.

In other moves to get down to the roster limit, the Vikings have wide receiver Greg Childs on the physically unable to perform list, DT Christian Ballard on the left squad list and placed guard Seth Olsen, who suffered a concussion Thursday night, on the injured reserve list.

VU will have an update coming later looking at those who made the roster and how the positional numbers shake out.
