Vikings sign McKinnon; all picks signed
McKinnon was the last of the picks to sign, telling Viking Update late last week that he anticipated a deal getting done shortly after the pick in front of him signed. That happened on Thursday when Denver OT Michael Schofield, signed a contract for four years, $2.77 million. McKinnon officially signed his contract on Tuesday, the team announced.
McKinnon was the 96th pick overall – the second of two third-round picks for the Vikings – after starting 31 of 47 games at Georgia Southern, where he played quarterback, wide receiver, running back and cornerback. The Vikings plan to use him as a running back that could also see some opportunities in the return game.
At Georgia Southern, he rushed for over 100 yards in 17 career games, finishing with 3,899 career rushing yards, 42 TDs on the ground in addition to 12 passing TDs and one TD reception.
