The Vikings joined 30 other teams Thursday by taking a pass on the eight players available in the NFL's annual supplemental draft.

The Vikings weren't expecting to make any moves Thursday in the NFL's supplemental draft, which has produced such players as Cris Carter and Bernie Kosar, but, when they were on the clock, they were one of 31 teams that said "thanks, but no thanks" to the eight players who were eligible to be selected.

The only player taken was USC defensive tackle Manuel Wright, taken on the fifth round by the Dolphins. Some draft experts believe that Wright likely would have been a top-10 selection if he had played his final two years of college and progressed -- both full-time starters at DT for the Trojans were high draft picks in April.

The seven players who weren't drafted now become free agents available to all teams. Look for that action to be brisker in the coming days, as teams don't have to give anything to get those players.
