Three pass-catchers to take Winter Park stage this week

Winter Park will be a hub of free-agent activity this week, with the wide receiver position firmly planted atop the Vikings' to-do list.

At least three receivers are slated for visits at some point this week as the Vikings continue their ongoing search for Cris Carter's replacement.

The Insiders has learned that Willie Jackson is scheduled to visit Minnesota tomorrow, and will be followed quickly by Germane Crowell and Jerome Pathon by the end of the week.

Jackson, who drew early interest from the Redskins, may not be the biggest name of the group being brought in, but he is the healthiest and most dependable.  The eight-year veteran has not missed a game due to injury during his career, and broke through with career-highs in both receptions (81) and yardage (1,046).

Crowell and Pathon, on the other hand, have missed 18 and 12 games, respectively, due to injuries the past two seasons.

A fourth receiver -- Johnnie Morton -- could be in Minnesota at some point in the next two weeks, pending the results of other visits already scheduled.

In addition to the Vikings, the Packers, Chiefs, Rams, Saints and Buccaneers have all expressed varying degrees of interest in Morton, who was unexpectedly released by the Lions last week.  Morton already has visits scheduled with Tampa Bay (Friday) and St. Louis (early next week), and could visit Kansas City shortly thereafter.  Morton would like to re-sign with Detroit, but the shabby treatment heaved on him by the organization last week could play a major role in determining where he ultimately lands.
