Udeze To Have Surgery

Kenechi Udeze is out not only for Sunday's game, but perhaps after the bye week as well.

Kenechi Udeze was just one of the names on a long list of injuries this week, but moved to the top of the list Friday when the team announced that Udeze will be lost for not only this week's game, but perhaps some following the bye week as well.

Udeze, who suffered a left knee injury, will have the procedure done next Wednesday and, while the recovery time isn't expected to be overly lengthy, he will likely miss at least the game coming out of the bye week.

Earlier in the week, Mike Tice had suggested that rookie Erasmus James would start in his place, but now it appears that Spencer Johnson will get the start and James will fill in on passing downs.

SATURDAY NOTES
* Moe Williams is likely on the shelf as well after hyperextending his knee Sunday vs. the Saints. As a result, Ciatrick Fason will be activated for the first time this year.
* E.J. Henderson will try to play with a protective brace on his injured right ankle, but still isn't expected to start.
* Darren Sharper was downgraded from questionable to to doubtful Friday.
* Kevin Williams, who has double-digit sacks in his first two seasons, doesn't have a sack yet this year.
