Whitaker Continues Strong Europe Showing

Vikings cornerback, coming off defensive player of the week honors, had another strong performance last weekend in NFL Europe.

Vikings cornerback Ronyell Whitaker started for the Rhein Fire and returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown in Rhein’s 35-31 loss at Amsterdam on Saturday. Whitaker also had four tackles on defense and two tackles on special teams. Rhein dropped to a first-place tie with Amsterdam at 4-1.

Vikings wide receiver Aaron Hosack started for the Frankfurt Galaxy and had seven catches for 102 yards and a touchdown in Frankfurt’s 17-13 win over Hamburg on Saturday. Hosack’s TD catch with just over 4 minutes remaining in the game gave the Galaxy the win. Frankfurt is 3-2.

Sean Bubin, allocated by the Vikings, started at right tackle for the Hamburg Sea Devils in their 17-13 loss to Frankfurt on Saturday. Frankfurt is winless in the league.

All three Vikings are expected back in action this Saturday and Sunday.
