There weren’t many highlights for the Vikings in San Francisco, but one long-time veteran and two younger players moved up in a few statistical categories.

GAME NOTES vs. 49ers

  • Quarterback Brad Johnson started his 40th game as a Viking, which moves him into fifth place all-time among Vikings quarterbacks. He passed Warren Moon and Joe Kapp’s 39 starts. In front of him are Fran Tarkenton (171), Tommy Kramer (110), Daunte Culpepper (80) and Wade Wilson (48).

  • Mewelde Moore’s 18 punt-return yards give him a career-high 265 in a season and move him into 10th place in team history for a season.

  • Chester Taylor’s 26 rushing attempts give him a season total of 173. He moves past Michael Bennett’s 172 and into third place for most attempts in first season with the team. Alfred Anderson had 201 attempts in 1984 and Chuck Foreman had 182 as a rookie in 1973.

  • Taylor’s 96 rushing yards give him a season total of 708. He moves past Michael Bennett’s 682 and into third place for most yards in a player’s first season with the team. Former had 801 in 1973 and Anderson had 773 in 1984.
