Williamson's Focus is on Focus

Wide receiver Troy Williamson has been working at Nike’s corporate headquarters in an effort to get his focus and hand-eye coordination improved.
Coming off a disappointing second NFL season,
Troy Williamson
appears set on trying to prove he was worth the seventh-overall selection in the 2005 draft.
Among the things Williamson has done to try to improve himself so far this off-season was spend several days having his eye and body movements tested by coordination specialists at the Nike corporate headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.
Williamson’s agent, David Canter, confirmed that his client had spent time at the facility recently and is optimistic it will prove to be beneficial.
Williamson and Vikings officials have not been available to comment and Canter admitted he did not have full details of exactly what the test results on Williamson found.
The Vikings receiver has struggled to catch passes and at times has appeared to be turning the wrong way or had balls bounce off him that should be caught. This led to speculation last season that Williamson’s eyesight was not what it should be.
However, Williamson underwent tests that showed nothing to be wrong with his sight.
The key to this latest process is that it should help Williamson have a better focus on the football.
Williamson is probably aware that 2007 could be his last chance with the Vikings. He caught 37 passes for 455 yards in 14 games last season but his problem with drops wound up costing him a job in the starting lineup.
He also failed to catch a touchdown pass, despite being a guy the Vikings needed as a big-play receiver.
QUOTE TO NOTE: “Yes, we are under the cap, but the money is available for any players that our football people want to sign. Apparently our plan is to work on the draft as the source for the players who will improve the team.” — Vikings owner Zygi Wilf on why the team has not spent more money during free agency, despite being nearly $30 million under the salary cap when free agency began.
