Former Vikings offensive tackle Mike Rosenthal has agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins.

Former Vikings offensive tackle Mike Rosenthal has reached a one-year contract agreement worth the veteran minimum with the Miami Dolphins, according to Scout.com’s Adam Caplan.

Rosenthal is projected to be the top backup offensive tackle for the club and can play either side.

Tampa Bay also showed an interest in signing him.

Rosenthal had spent three years with the New York Giants before signing with the Vikings in 2002. He started three games at right tackle for the Vikings in 2006 in relief of Marcus Johnson, who was benched, before giving way to rookie Ryan Cook for the final three games. During his three starts, the team’s leading rusher averaged 120 yards per game on the ground.

In eight years in the league, he has played in 89 games, starting 58 of them. With the Vikings, he played in 49 games with 33 starts.
