Four Vikings Continue NFLE Campaigns

While the Vikings continue their offseason program at Winter Park, four purple prospects are trying to improve their games in NFL Europa.

The Vikings have four players over in NFL Europa at positions that need improvement back on Minnesota soil.

Wide receiver Justin Surrency, who is playing for Amsterdam, has started all four games and has eight catches for 71 yards (8.9-yard average) and one touchdown. He had one of his most productive games of the season last Saturday in a 19-17 win over Frankfurt when he caught three passes for 37 yards.

Jerron Wishom has started all four games for the Cologne Centurions at left cornerback, garnering nine tackles on defense and two on special teams. He also has three passes defended and one interception.

Alex Guerrero, a practice-squad player for the Vikings in November and December last year, has started all four games at defensive tackle for the Rhein Fire and registered six tackles.

Jimmy Martin, another 2006 practice-squad guy for the Vikings through parts of November and December, has started all four games at left tackle on offense for the Fire. A few former Vikings are among the league leaders. Angular wide receiver Aaron Hosack is leading the scoring with three touchdowns for Frankfurt. Another short-lived former Vikings receiver, Skyler Fulton, has two receiving touchdowns.

Former Vikings quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan has a league-leading passer rating of 107.0 on 42 of 63 passing (NFLE-leading 66.7 completion percentage) for a league-leading 526 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. O’Sullivan is now property of the Chicago Bears.
