NFL Europa Updates

Three Vikings in NFL Europa continued to start for their teams and produce at varying levels, but a few former Vikings are among the league leaders. Plus, find out about an inaugural Vikings fundraiser.
While Vikings players stateside prepare for this weekend’s official minicamp,
have two more weeks of regular-season play in NFL Europa.
Wide receiver Surrency started and had four catches for 30 yards in the Amsterdam Admirals’ 30-7 loss last Friday. Surrency currently has seven kickoff returns for 148 yards and 15 receptions for 145 yards.
Wishom started at left cornerback and posted two tackles, a pass defensed and a special teams tackle for the Cologne Centurions’ win over Amsterdam. Wishom has 19 tackles and five passes defensed, along with one interception, on the season.
Cologne is 5-2 and tied for first place in the league with Frankfurt. Amsterdam is 3-4.
Martin started for the Rhein Fire at left tackle in a 23-10 loss to Frankfurt last Saturday. Rhein is 2-5 on the season.
Wishom and Cologne play on Sunday, while the other Vikings-allocated players – Martin and Surrency – face each other on Monday. Both games will be telecast on NFL Network on a tape-delayed basis.

, a wide receiver, each have three touchdowns to date during the 2007 NFL Europa season. Hosack and Fulton were not allocated by an NFL team, while Henderson was allocated to the league by the
. Fulton is tied for the league lead with 28 receptions and third with 340 yards. Hosack is averaging a whopping 39.2 yards on six receptions.
Former Vikings quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan, now with the
(his third NFC North team), has two rushing touchdowns, six passing touchdowns and four interceptions and is the third-rated QB in the league with a 90.3 passer rating. He has the highest completion percentage (63.5) of the six starters in the league.

, Jenni Greenway, is helping organize a 5K walk/run in cooperation with the
on Father’s Day.
Jenni ran cross country at the University of
, where Chad starred before becoming a first-round draft choice of the Vikings in 2006. Chad is expected to start at weakside linebacker this year.
Vikings players, cheerleaders and other members of the Vikings Women’s Organization will host the inaugural Vikings Gridiron Gallop, a 5-kilometer run/walk around Lake Nokomis, in an effort to raise money for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board youth athletics. Registration/check-in is at 7:30 a.m. on Father’s Day, June 17, at the Lake Nomokis Beach House at 5001 West Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis. The runs and walks start with an 8:30 a.m. kids fun run and a 9 a.m. walk/run for adults. The cost is $5 for children ages 10 and under and $25 for anyone older.
Players and cheerleaders will be signing autographs, and every participant will receive a free t-shirt. Timed results will be posted online.
