>"All Day" gets his special day
It was officially "Adrian Peterson Day" in Palestine, Tex. today and KLTV.com has the story and a link to a video clip (2:45). And here's another story by the TylerPaper.com.

>Bercich will add much to Viking radio broadcasts
You might have already been turning off the sound on your TV and listening to the Vikings radio telecast, but the addition of former Vikings linebacker and assistant coach Pete Bercich to the broadcast booth will be a real treat for serious fans.  In all liklihood, his coaching career is not over.  But in the meantime, he will bring an insightful perspective with his commentary and analysis if his recent appearance on KFAN is any indication.  Bercich is football smart and articulate, not at all just another ex-jock in the booth.

>Greenway makes list of breakout stars for 2007
Chad Greenway's rookie season was a virtual washout after he tore up his ACL in the first preseason game last year.  But all indications are that he's better than 100% and ready for a breakout season, making Adam Schein's list of breakouot stars for 2007 as posted here on FOXSports.com.

>Peterson earns “best value” tag for fantasy draft
Roger Rotter of FOXSports.com offers up his fantasy draft analysis for best values, sleepers and flops.  Headlining his list is Vikings rookie running back Adrian Peterson.  “The presence of Chester Taylor will help keep Peterson's injury risk low while keeping him fresh to explode for a big run against tired defenses in the fourth quarter,” Rotter writes.

>Peterson honored in hometown today
The big day has arrived!  The TylerPaper.com reports today was the big day in Palestine, Tex., as the town of 17,598 celebrated “Adrian Peterson Day.”  As a prep star in Texas, Peterson drew comparisons to Hall-of-Fame running backs Eric Dickerson and Earl Campbell.  “Adrian is our light, he is our sunshine here.  We are just honoring him because he's brought some real joy to our city. We watched him from high school, college and now professionally,” according to event organizer Carol Pegues.  “Adrian has really put Palestine on the map. Everybody is really excited about it.  Adrian has pulled Palestine together.”

>Jackson gives back through alma mater
A story in the Montgomery Advertiser talks to Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson as he participated in a youth football camp at his alma mater of Alabama State, along with former receiver Chad Lucas, new ASU head coach Reggie Barlow and former defensive lineman and current ASU assistant Tyrone Rogers.

>Vikings inside slant
Here’s the week in review, if you will, on the Vikings as posted at usatoday.com.  Their weekly update tracks the week’s activities, as well as players added and subtracted, along with salary figures as available.

>Where are they now?  Ed Marinaro
So I downloaded the fourth season of “Monk” for trips with my iPOD, and who do you suppose plays a bad guy in an episode but former Vikings running back Ed Marinaro.  A Heisman Trophy finalist at Cornell in 1971, Marinaro played in the NFL with the Vikings, Jets and Seahawks before taking up a modestly successful acting career.  Actually, his acting career might be considered more successful than his professional football career.  Marinaro has also done some writing.  (NorthJersey.com) (imdb.com) (wikipedia) (sportshollywood.com) (career stats)
