Vikings to host “Youth Football Day”

The Vikings will be hosting a “Youth Football Day” event at Winter Park on Tuesday, July 17.

Head coach Brad Childress, All-Pro center Matt Birk and quarterback Brooks Bollinger will welcome participants at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17. A group of more than 150 youngsters ages 8-14 is expected on the very field the pros practice on.

The event is sponsored by Qwest and will take place rain or shine at Winter Park, located at 9520 Viking Drive, Eden Prairie, MN.

As part of the program, Bollinger and Birk will be donating $3,000 worth of new football equipment to USA Football to be distributed to needy youth in Minneapolis and St. Paul. In addition, each participant will receive two tickets to the August 30th Vikings-Cowboys preseason game.

The FREE event serves as the Minnesota Vikings continuing commitment to support and grow youth football in the community.

Here’s the schedule:
9:00 a.m. – Youth Player Check-In
10:00 a.m. – Welcome by Childress, Birk and Bollinger
10:15 a.m. – Drills
11:00 a.m. – Water Break
11:10 a.m. – Drills
11:55 a.m. – Lunch
12:30 p.m. – Break Camp

USA Football, through the Minneapolis-St. Paul HUB Community (which is comprised of the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board and the St. Paul Park & Recreation Board) is working to bring the football world together. Through educational programs and best practice recommendations, USA Football is making the sport more fun, safe and accessible.
