DE Scott Goes to Injured Reserve

Darrion Scott’s lower leg injury, suffered on Monday, has landed him on injured reserve.

The Vikings have placed defensive end Darrion Scott on injured reserve with an apparent foot or lower leg injury. Scott was participating in practice during the portion open to the media on Monday, but after practice he was moving through the locker room with a boot on his foot and into the training room.

The extent of his injury isn’t immediately known, but placing him on injured reserve ends his season.

He was active for all four games this season, registering three tackles in a rotational role. Last season, he led the Vikings with 5.5 sacks and had 49 tackles. He is in the final year of his contract, signing his one-year tender as a restricted free agent this past offseason and will become an unrestricted free agent in March if the Vikings don’t give him a contract extension. Scott wanted to work out a long-term deal with the team, but ended up eventually just signing his one-year tender.

Taking his place on the active roster is guard Brian Daniels, who was signed from the practice squad. Daniels was signed as an undrafted rookie in May out of Colorado.

The Vikings also waived linebacker Cameron Siskowic from their injured-reserve list. Siskowic was injured in the Vikings’ third preseason game in Seattle, with initial concerns about paralysis, but he flew back to Minnesota within days and was making a good recovery.
