Holcomb, Peterson Will Start

Quarterback Kelly Holcomb will start today’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, as will running back Adrian Peterson.

To the surprise of very few, Kelly Holcomb will officially be making the start at quarterback today for the Vikings in place of the injured Tarvaris Jackson, who is deactivated as the third quarterback.

Another change in the starting lineup is that running back Adrian Peterson will officially be starting in place of Chester Taylor.

Also inactive for the Vikings are safety Dwight Smith, CB Ronyell Whitaker, TE Garrett Mills, LB Vinny Ciurciu, T Chase Johnson, WR Aundrae Allison and DE Erasmus James. Tank Williams will be starting for the injured Smith at safety.

For the Eagles, safety Brian Dawkins is inactive and Quintin Mikell will be starting in his place. Also inactive for the Eagles are QB Kevin Kolb, RB Tony Hunt, LB Pago Togafau, G Max Jean-Gilles, DT Kimo von Oelhoffen, G Scott Young and DE Victory Abiamiri.
