Former Viking Darrion Scott was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Eden Prairie police officers and charged with probable cause felony assault after a search warrant was executed at this home. Scott was taken into custody and charged with one count of assault, one count of domestic assault and one count of malicious punishment of a child. No additional information was being released concerning the incident. Scott spent four years with the Vikings after being drafted in the third round of the 2004 draft. Despite having a need at defensive end this offseason with the injuries to Erasmus James and the diagnosis of leukemia made for Kenechi Udeze, the team made almost no effort to re-sign Scott. Scott was arrested in December for marijuana possession while at home while home for the holidays visiting family in West Virginia. Scott made free-agent visits to the Washington Redskins and New England Patriots in the past two months, but didn’t sign a contract with either team. VU will update this story as more information becomes available. THURSDAY NOTES |
