Player Wire: Releases part of the equation

As teams begin the scramble to re-sign some of their most desired free agents, other teams are releasing players while some street free agents, including two former Vikings WRs, have found new homes. It's all a build-up to Friday's free-agent opening and we've got the early action here.

QB Sage Rosenfels is close to being traded to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a fourth-round pick, according to the Houston Chronicle. And SportsRadio 610 in Houston reported that the Vikings are willing to give Rosenfels a three-year, $9 million extension. He has one year left on his current contract.
