ESPN, which has been hit and miss with its multiple bombshell screen crawls, is reporting that the Vikings are going to send a member of the training staff and coaching staff to Favre's home to meet and work with the 39-year-old quarterback about making a comeback with the Vikings.

ESPN is reporting that the Vikings are going to send at least two staff members to Brett Favre’s home in Hattiesburg, Miss., to work with the veteran quarterback to gauge his recovery from surgery to detach his torn right biceps tendon.

The story, which comes from what ESPN called “a source close to the situation,” said that a member of the training staff and the coaching staff will meet with Favre. The natural assumption is that, given the magnitude of a decision to bring Favre to the Vikings as their new starting quarterback, the logical choices for such a trip would be Eric Sugarman, the Vikings head trainer, and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who coached Favre when both were with the Packers.

It is believed that Favre had the surgery in late May, which would put the anticipated visit next week into the third week of his rehabilitation. Favre has resumed throwing, but the extent to which he can return at 100 percent is still in question.

Yesterday, when head coach Brad Childress said “stay tuned,” perhaps this is what he was referring to. If nothing else, he has us staying tuned.
