Reports: Harvin has migraines

Percy Harvin missed Thursday and Friday practices because of apparent migraines, not a virus, according to multiple reports.
Percy Harvin
remains a question mark for Sunday’s not because of a sprain or muscle pull, but because of migraines. Illness has sidelined Harvin him three times since turning pro.
Harvin missed part of the rookie symposium due to a similar illness, as well as the team’s first minicamp. It is unclear when the headaches arrive how long they last, but it is clear that they are serious and relatively long-lasting from past instances of migraines.
It would seem that, if they clear up, Harvin should be good to go Sunday against the 49ers. But, as it stands now, he remains a question mark, which could leave a significant void in the passing game and the return game for the Vikings.
SATURDAY NOTES
Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff was in uniform Friday at Vikings practice. Mehlhaff, who was one of the final roster cuts at the end of the preseason, was in for a workout and no roster move appears to be pending. If the Vikings were to sign him, it would be as a kickoff specialist, since
Ryan Longwell
has been rock steady kicking field goals.
Harvin was the only player who missed practice Friday.
Adrian Peterson
(back) and
E.J. Henderson
(shoulder) were both practicing on a limited basis and are expected to play Sunday.
Former Vikings great Jim Marshall, who saw his ironman streak surpassed by
Brett Favre
last Sunday, was on hand at Winter Park Friday to talk to the team. Marshall was invited to Detroit last week to commemorate the Favre streak, but it coincided with his first wedding anniversary, so he declined the invitation.
Former Viking
Randy Moss
is listed as questionable for the Patriots this weekend with a back injury, which could potentially leave
Tom Brady
without his two top weapons.
Wes Welker
, who missed last week’s game due to injury, is also listed as questionable.
Reports out of Los Angeles say the Chargers are currently the frontrunner to move to L.A. if the city gets a stadium built and convinces a team to relocate. The Chargers have a lease at Qualcomm Stadium that they can get out of after this season without penalty. Jacksonville is viewed as the second-likeliest option, but their lease is going to be more difficult to get out of. The Jaguars have been forced to cover thousands of seats with tarps because of their inability to sell those tickets.
