Pro Bowl CB Antoine Winfield was the subject of several injury-related reports Sunday, but he said…
Report: Winfield to miss at least a month
Winfield hurt his foot in the second quarter of last week's game against the Baltimore Ravens and Vikings coach Brad Childress said it was a "sprained foot" on Monday. However, the St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that Winfield has a fracture.
Either way, Winfield is out for the Steelers game and likely out until after the Vikings' bye following their game against Green Bay next Sunday, possibly even beyond that.
Winfield was listed as doubtful on the injury report while wide receivers Percy Harvin (shoulder) and Darius Reynaud were questionable Friday. Harvin is active, but it is unknown if he will return kickoffs, which how he aggravated the shoulder last Sunday.
Other inactives for the Vikings Sunday against the Steelers include QB Sage Rosenfels (third quarterback), Reynaud, RB Albert Young, LB Erin Henderson, C Jon Cooper, DE Jayme Mitchell and DT Letroy Guion.
For the Steelers, QB Dennis Dixon (third quarterback). WR Limas Sweed, CB Keenan Lewis, FB Carey Davis, LB Andre Frazier, G Kraig Urbik, T Tony Hills and DE DE Sunny Harris are inactive.
On a lighter note, ESPN reported that Vikings coach Brad Childress had told his players earlier in the week to be respectful of airline stewardesses, and then he proceeded to dress up in a stewardess outfit – heels, lipstick and all on the flight to Pittsburgh yesterday.
