Harvin active despite medical issues

WR Percy Harvin is active despite his struggles with migraine headaches and a report of bulging discs in his neck.

Percy Harvin is active despite a report on NBC.com saying he has two bulging discs in his neck, in addition to the migraines that caused him to miss last Sunday’s game and most of the last week of practice.

Also active are WR Sidney Rice and DE Ray Edwards, who were also listed as questionable on Friday.

Inactive for the Vikings are QB Sage Rosenfels (emergency QB), WR Jaymar Johnson, RB Albert Young, CB Karl Paymah, TE Garrett Mills, LB J Leman, C Jon Cooper and DT Letroy Guion.

According to the report on NBC.com, Harvin arrived in Charlotte with a “lingering headache and drowsiness” that he believes might have been brought on by the pressurized airplane flight.

NBC also reported that an MRI showed Harvin has two bulging discs in his neck and is scheduled to visit the Mayo Clinic in Rochester on Tuesday as the Vikings continue to look for a solution to his medical issues.

Harvin said he was suffering from migraines when he missed the team’s official minicamp in May and the NFL’s rookie symposium in June, but his most recent bout caused loss of vision and vomiting. It was the most serious bout he’s had, he told NBC.

“Guys could see how bloodshot my eyes were from crying and they saw me throwing up in meetings,” he said. “I think they know what was going on with me.”

Inactive for the Panthers are QB Jake Delhomme, CB C.J. Wilson, RB Mike Goodson, FB Tony Fiammetta, DT Derek Landri, T Rob Petitti, WR Dwayne Jarrett and DE Hilee Taylor.
