The Vikings won one playoff game, didn't play last weekend but still moved up in the draft order. How is that possible? Thanks to either Arizona or Philadelphia, each with worse regular-season records than the Vikings, being guaranteed to reach the Super Bowl, the Vikings have moved from the 23rd draft slot to No. 22. The first 20 slots are set. A lot after that depends on the Super Bowl entrants.
NOTES: Draft-order ties: The cumulative record of each team’s opponents is used as the tie-breaker. The team with the weaker opponents receives drafting priority. Within a tied segment (teams with same record), teams that are not in the playoffs will be given priority. Teams within a tied segment that are involved in the playoffs will be seeded according to their progress in the playoffs. Playoff teams will not drop out of a tied segment unless they advance to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl champion selects last and the runner-up selects 31st, but the Patriots were stripped of their original selection because of their illegal use of sideline videotape, leaving only 31 first-round selections in 2008.
