| Biography: |
| Alexander's 2005 season is one that will be remembered for a long time. The running back amassed a lead-leaguing 1,880 yards on 370 carries in helping to carry the Seahawks to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance. Scored 28 touchdowns (27 rushing) to set a new NFL record, and break a 45-year old record for single-season points scored (Paul Horning, 1960). Averaged 5.1 yards per carry behind the 'Hawks tough offensive line. Added fifteen catches for 78 yards and an additional 236 rushing yards in the post season. Could have passed 2,000 yards rushing, except that he was idle in the second half during romps against Philadelphia (42-0) and San Francisco (41-3). Named MVP, Pro Bowl starter, and numerous other post-season awards. |
