| Biography: |
Vikings 2004 draft choice Nat Dorsey has a massive frame. It is part of what got the offensive lineman drafted, but concerns over his weight and work ethic also kept him on the board until the fourth round despite many projecting him as an early second-rounder.
After a season learning the Vikings’ system on the offensive line, Dorsey could be a key backup at tackle during 2005.
2004: Played in 13 games, starting seven. Was one of a few offensive linemen that replaced Mike Rosenthal at right tackle after he was lost for the season with a foot injury. Also played sparingly at left tackle.
College: Three-year starter at the demanding left tackle position who twice was recognized by the league's coaches for All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. Despite playing with shoulder problems in 2002, he allowed only four quarterback sacks during his career. His size and strength were major factors in the success of the Yellow Jackets' running game the past three years. Management major.
High School: Attended St. Augustine (New Orleans, La.) High. Rated the No. 21 prospect in Louisiana by SuperPrep. First-team all-state by Louisiana Football Magazine, ranked among the Louisiana Top 30 by the New Orleans Times Picayune and named to Max Emfinger's Louisiana Elite 85. All-district, All-Orleans Parish, all-metro and All-Catholic Elite League selection. Recorded 71 pancake blocks as a senior and 57 as a junior. Only allowed two sacks over two seasons.
