| Biography: |
On March 5, 2004, the Vikings felt like they signed their best free agent to that point. They made a point to say that they weren’t just interested in signing any cornerback, they were passionately interested in signing Antoine Winfield. When he agreed to a six-contract, the Vikings felt an organization-wide sense of pride and joy.
Winfield responded with an excellent year of covering wide receivers and showing why he is considered one of the best tackling cornerbacks.
2004: Led the Vikings with three interceptions, ranked fourth on the team with 96 tackles despite missing two games and two more starts while battling an ankle injury. Was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week following the opening weekend of playoff games. Had 22 tackles, one interception, one sack, two tackles for losses and a forced fumble in two playoff games.
2003: Was third on the Bills with 124 tackles and one interception, along with 14 passes defensed, starting every game.

2000: Made 11 starts with 62 tackles, one interception and nine passes defensed. After 11 games, a shoulder injury caused him to be placed on the injured reserve.
1999: Was the 23rd overall pick of the draft by Bills. Started two of 16 games in his rookie season, making 52 tackles, two interceptions and 12 passes defensed. His first career interception came against Peyton Manning, as did three of his first four interceptions.
College: Was a two-time All-American at Ohio State and became the first Buckeye to win the Thorpe Award as college football’s top defensive back. Had 278 career tackles, becoming the first non-linebacker in OSU history to record more than 200 tackles.
High School: Played tailback and safety at Garfield (Akron, Ohio) High. Helped lead the team to three city titles, including a 10-1 record as a senior.
Personal: He and wife Erniece have two sons, Antoine Jr. and Austin.
