Biography:
The Vikings signed Aaron Elling in March 2003 as a free agent kicker. He was their place-kicker in 2003 and their kickoff specialist for about half the season in 2004.

The Miami Dolphins originally signed him as an undrafted free agent in April 2001. He signed with Seattle in May 2002. He was released by both clubs without ever having attempted a kick in the NFL.

2004: Released by the Vikings in training camp and signed by the Tennessee Titans for one game, when he made one of two field goal attempts and averaged 45.3 yards on six punts. Re-signed by the Vikings to handle kickoffs in Week 2, but a broken ankle forced him to injured reserve on Nov. 17, ending his season.

2003: Hit 18 of 25 field goals, with a long of 51 yards. Seventh in the NFC in scoring among kickers.
