Biography:
Shortly after being released by the Packers, Darren Sharper signed with the Vikings. He is expected to add a veteran presence diagnosing offenses on the fly.

2004: Started at free safety for the sixth consecutive year in Green Bay. Is now fifth on the Packers' all-time interceptions list with 36. Played in 15 games, with 13 starts, and registered 77 tackles. Had four interceptions among eight passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

2003: Started 15 regular-season games and both playoff games for the Packers in 2003. Was inactive for one game after suffering lung contusion while breaking up a pass four days earlier against San Francisco. Intercepted five passes (tied for sixth in the NFC), leading the team in interceptions for the fourth straight season. Was second on the team in passes defensed with 18. Led the team in tackles in the post-season with 19, including one sack and one forced fumble. Was a first alternate on the NFC Pro Bowl squad.

Previous years: Was selected as the starting free safety for the NFC in the Pro Bowl following the 2002 season. Also selected to the Pro Bowl in 2000, and was a first alternate in 2001. Had seven interceptions in 2002. Led the NFL with nine interceptions in 2000, the first Packers player to lead league in interceptions in nearly four decades.
Missed three games due to injuries in 2002, including last two after suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee on Dec. 22 against Buffalo.

College: Three-year starter and four-time letter winner (1993-96) at William &
Mary. Was a two-time Division I-AA All-America selection as well as
three-time first-team All-Yankee Conference pick. Played in 40 career
games with 37 starts. Intercepted 24 passes during his collegiate career,
tops in school history. His 486 career interception return yards made him
the all-time leader in I-AA as well as Yankee Conference history.
