| Biography: |
Earlier in his career with Buffalo, it appeared that Keith Newman was headed to be a solid starter for years to come. However, his play waned in the 2002 season and the Bills decided not to bring him back. The Vikings were his third team in three years when he signed with them in 2004. He is best used as a situational rush outside linebacker.
2004: Started the final 14 games for the Vikings when it was apparent to the coaches that they had too much youth at the position. Recorded 71 tackles, including three for losses and 3.5 sacks. Has started 66 of the 78 games he has played.
Previous years: Spent 2003 with Atlanta after playing four years in Buffalo. Through 2004, had 20 career sacks.
College: Played at the University of North Carolina.
