| Biography: |
| Arguably one of the top weakside linebackers in the NFL, his tremendous production warranted his first Pro Bowl selection following the 2005 season. Also received first-team All-Pro accolades in 2005. Over the last 3 seasons, he has the most interceptions returned for touchdowns (3) of any linebacker in the NFL and only one player has more (Darren Sharper, GB-MIN, 4). Only NFL player to return an interception for a TD in each of the last 3 seasons and no other linebacker in NFL history has returned a pick for a score in each of his first 3 campaigns. Tied for 3rd in team history with 3 INTs returned for TDs in career behind only Mike Brown and Bennie McRae (4). Increased his tackle total every year and with 419 career tackles over the last 3 seasons to rank 2nd on Bears during that period (Brian Urlacher, 429). 2nd on team in tackles in 2005, led in 2004. Enters 2006 season having started 45 consecutive regular season games - 3rd-longest on team and 2nd-longest on defense (Olin Kreutz, 54; Alex Brown, 48) - including 32 straight at WLB. Paced Chicago in 2004 with 168 tackles while being named a second-alternate at OLB for the Pro Bowl after starting every contest at WLB. Started final 13 games of rookie season in 2003 at SLB and finished as one of the team's top-5 tacklers while tallying team's only defensive TD of 2003 on his first career INT return TD. |
