| Biography: |
| A fixture on the Bears offensive line since 1999, Kreutz has developed into the cornerstone of the offense and one of the top centers in the NFL while being named to five consecutive Pro Bowls. One of six players in franchise history to be named to five Pro Bowls, tying him for 8th in club history in most Pro Bowl selections and trails only Walter Payton (10) and Jay Hilgenberg (7) among Bears offensive players. Heads into 2006 having started 54 consecutive contests and 79 of the Bears last 80 games. Chicago has had 100-yard rushers in 22 of his 111 games at center. Tied with Pat Mannelly as the longest-tenured Bear, each having joined Chicago in 1998. Has started each of his last 102 games played. Last missed a game 11/18/02 while recovering from an appendectomy and even played the week following the bye in 2004 in which he had elbow surgery. Only two-time veteran winner of the Brian Piccolo Award, voted by his teammates as the recipient of the award in 2003 and 2004. Anchored 2001 O-line unit that featured the same five starters for all 16 regular season games and the playoff contest while allowing the fewest sacks in the NFL. Earned first career start at center in the 1998 season-finale after alternating at the position for the second half of his rookie year.
