How Acquired: Signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Vikings March, 19, 2004.

2005: Played in 16 games, making eight starts due primarily to the formations the Vikings used on the first offensive plays of specific games. For the second straight year, led the team in receptions with 69, during which he gained 568 yards and scored one touchdown.
2004: Was the team’s leading receiver with 71 catches for 705 yards. His previous career best was 18 catches. Missed two games with a broken hand. Became the first Vikings TE to lead the team in catches since Steve Jordan in 1986 (since then, either Anthony Carter, Cris Carter or Randy Moss had held that title). Caught five passes in two playoff games.
2003: Started 11 games for Carolina, but caught only eight passes, his lowest output since turning pro.
2002: Played in 14 games, splitting time between Indianapolis and Carolina. Caught 10 passes.
2001: Started six games for New England, playing in all 16, and caught 14 passes and a career-high four touchdowns.
2000: Split time between the New York Jets and New England and produced what are still his career bests of 18 receptions for an 11.5-yard average.
1999: Was an undrafted rookie free agent in 1999 with the New York Jets and spent the season on the Jets practice squad.
College: Played two seasons at Marshall before finishing his college career at Georgia, following his Marshall head coach Jim Donnan when he was hired to coach the Bulldogs. As a senior, caught 23 passes. Had his best season as a sophomore with Marshall, catching 58 passes for 681 yards and four touchdowns.
Personal: Was an All-City selection as a senior at East Boston High School. Lettered four years as a football player and led his high school basketball team to the 1992 state title. Has a bachelor’s degree in child and family services development. He and his wife Tallena have a daughter Takida and two sons, Jermaine Jr. and Jaden. Very involved in motorcycle riding. Has two Super Bowl rings, a championship with the Patriots and a NFC title ring with the Panthers.
