How Acquired: Signed as an unrestricted free agent from the Baltimore Ravens on March 11, 2006, to a four-year, $14 million contract.

2006: In his first season as a full-time starter, he made 15 starts for the Vikings and set a franchise record with 304 carries. His 1,214 rushing yards was the fourth-highest total in team history. He also caught 42 passes for 288 yards and scored six touchdowns. Became only the fifth Vikings running back to ever top 1,000 yards rushing. Set a team record with nine games with 20 or more rushing attempts. Posted four 100-yard games and had 99 in another. Was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performance vs. Seattle Oct. 22, when he rushed for 169 yards – including a 95-yard TD run.

2005: Played in 15 games and started one for the Ravens as the primary backup to Jamal Lewis. Finished the season with 117 carries for 487 yards and no touchdowns rushing, and 41 receptions for 292 yards and one touchdown receiving.

2004: Played in all 16 games and made four starts when Lewis was down with an injury. Finished the season with 160 carries for 714 yards and two touchdowns as well as 30 receptions for 184 yards. Has consecutive 100-yard rushing days in his limited role as a starter, rushing 23 times for 139 yards vs. the Bengals and 25 carries for 104 yards and a TD vs. the Giants.

2003: Played in all 16 games with one start. Finished the season with 63 carries for 276 yards and two touchdowns and caught 20 passes for 132 yards.

2002: Played in all 16 games as a rookie, starting two. Finished the year with 33 carries for 122 yards and 14 receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

College: As a senior, was named first-team All-MAC and runner-up for the conference player of the year. That year he ran 268 times for 1,492 yards and 20 touchdowns and caught 26 passes for 242 yards and three more TDs. Was named North Team MVP at the Hula Bowl. As a junior, also won All-MAC honors with 250-1,470-18 rushing numbers and .

Personal: Was named to the “Dream Team” by both daily newspapers in Detroit as a high school senior. Volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, a group that builds home for the underprivileged and those who have had homes destroyed by natural disasters. Taught football skills at the Art Monk Football Camp in July 2004.
