How Acquired: Signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2006 draft.
Contract Status: Vikings Contract Chart
Analysis: Quick, shifty, nifty, darting, versatile back who catches the ball extremely well and is very effective lining up in the slot. Superb productivity. Rushed 587-3,241-50 (5.5 avg.) and caught 303-2,058-19 (6.8) in four seasons. A very nice fit as a West Coast offense back. Will compete with Wendell Mathis and Adimchinobe Echemandu for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart. Vitals: 5094/204, 1.61 (10-yd), 2.72 (20-yd), 4.54-4.66 (40-yd), 32.5 VJ, 9-4 BJ, 4.43 short-shuttle, 11.94 long-shuttle, 7.01 three-cone.
College: Holds the all-time Division I college record for receptions by a running back with 303. As a redshirt freshman, he rushed 157 times for 793 yards (5.2 yard average) and seven touchdowns while catching 98 passes for 633 yards and six TDs. In 2003, he started all 13 games with 124-736-10 rushing and 78-611-6 receiving. As a junior, he had 162-840-16 rushing and 60-286-2 receiving. He closed out his college career as a senior with 148-872-17 rushing and 67-528-5 receiving.
Personal: As a high school star, he rushed for a whopping 6,300 yards and 76 touchdowns. As a high school senior, he rushed for 2,953 yards and 32 touchdowns. Played both high school and college football in a system that employed a variation of the run and shoot, which was the base formation at Texas Tech.
