Scouting Report: Brown
is a quick closer who flies to the ball. He has the ability to rush from the edge
or cover the run. Brown is accustomed to lining up on the outside, but has the
ability to play on the inside as necessary. Pro Experience: 1997-2004:
Seattle Seahawks Signed with Seattle in 1997 as their starting linebacker and
hasn't moved since. Has been hampered by injuries in the last few seasons, managing
only 29 out of 48 possible starts. Best season as a pro was in 1998 when he managed
to rack up 150 tackles 120 solo and 30 assists. With 7.5 sacks, 1 interception
and 7 passes defensed. 1993-1996: Pittsburgh Steelers Played key
role as part of the much acclaimed Steeler linebacker corp. Played in 16 games
his rookie season, as both outside and insider backer. Was part of the well known
revival of the Steeler's 'iron curtain" playing alongside Fellow backers
Kevin Greene and Greg Lloyd. College Experience: Colorado Buffalos Four-year
starter. Two time first-team All-Big Eight Conference. Played inside linebacker
and outside linebacker in college. Finished fourth in school history in total
tackles and third in solo stops. Contract Status: Signed as a free
agent, for 2 years with a $485,000 signing bonus and base salaries of $765,000
in 2005 and $800,000 in 2006, In addition, the Patriots will pay Brown a $100,000
