2003: Miree, a preseason All-Big East Conference selection, was limited to six games due to a lower right leg stress fracture and calf strain. Despite the injury, he still managed to lead the team with 573 yards and six touchdowns on 115 carries (5.0), adding 130 yards and a score on 16 receptions (8.1). In his first game of the year vs. Kent State, Miree rushed for 113 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown. Against Ball State, he carried the ball 15 times for 73 yards with three touchdowns and followed that with 20 attempts for 62 yards and six catches for 41 yards vs. Toledo. Miree suferred the right leg injury against Toledo and missed the next seven games. He made an incredible return to the gridiron against Temple, carrying 27 times for 188 yards and two touchdowns. In his collegiate finale vs. Virginia (Continental Tire Bowl), Miree rushed 22 times for 110 yards and scored on receiving touchdown.
2002: Miree, an All-Big East Conference Academic team selection, played in 13 games (8 starts) and rushed for 943 yards on 214 carries (4.4) and four touchdowns. He added 123 yards on 11 catches (11.2). In his debut with Pittsburgh vs. Ohio University, Miree ran 15 times for 62 yards and followed that with 63 yards on 14 attempts vs. Texas A&M. Against Alabama-Birmingham, he posted 97 yards on 32 carries in his first start as a Panther. Miree scored his first two touchdowns in a Pittsburgh uniform on runs of 1 and 6 yards vs. Syracuse. Against Virginia Tech, he posted his first 100-yard game for the Panthers, totaling 161 yards on 23 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown on a 53-yard run with 4:11 left to play. He rushed 26 times for 118 yards against Miami and had 121 yards on 25 carries vs. West Virginia. In the Insight.com Bowl vs. Oregon State, Miree tallied his fourth 100-yard game in five contests, picking up 113 yards on 20 attempts and a touchdown.
2001: After starting the season opener vs. UCLA and playing briefly the following week vs. Vanderbilt, Miree left Alabama, transferring to Pittsburgh, where he sat out the rest of the year under NCAA transfer rules. He gained two yards on three carries for the season.
2000: Miree appeared in every game (11) as a backup tailback at Alabama, where he carried the ball 94 times for 426 yards (4.5) and six touchdowns. Against Vanderbilt, he rushed for 70 yards on nine carries, including a 41-yard touchdown. Miree carried the ball 29 times for 96 yards with two touchdowns vs. Arkansas and scored another touchdown against South Carolina. Against Mississippi, Miree posted 91 yards on 12 rushes, including a 35-yard touchdown, and gained 88 yards including a 37-yard touchdown on 13 carries against Central Florida.
1999: As a freshman at Alabama, Miree redshirted during his first season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Miree rushed for 2,455 yards and 31 touchdowns on 259 carries (9.5) as a senior at Winton Woods (Ohio) High School. He averaged 223.2 yards per game that year in leading his team to a 9-2 record and the first playoff berth in school history. Th |
