| Biography: |
Scott Studwell saw tremendous athletic ability in Todd Bouman in 1997 and a prospect that might be able to handle the NFL with time. Bouman is backing up the scout’s thinking every year he continues to climb the ranks.
2001: As the Vikings’ No. 2 quarterback, started three games in place of the injured Daunte Culpepper, before injuring his thumb and being deactivated for the final two games of the season. Completed 57 percent of his passes, threw for 759 yards, eight TDs and four interceptions, with a 101.6 quarterback rating. Became the first Vikings quarterback to have a completion of 60 or more yards in three straight games.
2000: He was inactive for 18 games.
1999: The Vikings drafted a quarterback of the future in Culpepper, but they still had enough confidence in Bouman to keep him on the active roster as a fourth quarterback, thereby ensuring he couldn’t be claimed by another team.
1998: Was inactive for many of the games in the second half of the season. During the offseason, he was busy leading the Barcelona Dragons to a berth in the World Bowl in his first NFL Europe season. Ranked second in the league in attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdowns.
1997: Entered training camp as a rookie free agent and made the practice squad. By December, he was brought up to the active roster and in uniform for the team’s stretch drive and playoff run.
College: Ranks second in St. Cloud State history in total offense, third in passing yards and fourth in completions and touchdown passes. Bouman also played three years of basketball in college and won the National High School Slam Dunk Contest after his senior year of high school. |
