Maybe it was his 20 tackles against the University of Minnesota in his senior season at Louisiana-Lafayette that caught the attention of Vikings scouts, but whatever caused the Vikings to sign the rookie free agent in April 2002 they are certainly happy with Kyries Hebert’s early showing at spring camps.
He could see significant playing time at either safety position in 2002.
College: Hebert switched from wide receiver to safety as a sophomore, for good reason. He ended his career with 270 tackles and led the team in tackles his last three years. He was named All-Sun Belt Conference in 2001, and second-team All-Louisiana in 2000 and 1999.
