| Biography: |
Corbin Lacina accepted a deal with the Minnesota Vikings in 1999 to be closer to his St. Paul roots. The move turned out to be fortuitous for the team, too, as Lacina became the starting left guard in 2000 and 2001.
2001: Started 10 of the 11 games he played in, but missed three games with a calf injury and one with an ankle injury.
2000: Started 15 games, a career high for him, and both playoff games at left guard. Replaced perennial All-Pro Randall McDaniel and was part of the offensive line that led Robert Smith to a team-record 1,521 yards.
1999: Played in 16 games, filling in for Randall McDaniel, Jeff Christy and David Dixon but did not start any in his first year with the Vikings.
1998: With Carolina, he started the first nine games before being sidelined with an infected knee.
1997: Started the first 10 games of the season and three of the remaining six in his final season with Buffalo.
1996: Started the first two games but was hampered from then on with a groin injury and placed on injured reserve.
1995: Started the first three games of the season but didn’t see the starting lineup the rest of the year.
1994: Started 10 of 11 games before giving way to a foot injury that eventually caused him to end up on the injured reserve.
1993: Drafted by the Bills in the sixth round and spent most of his rookie year on their practice squad.
College: Was a three-year starter at Augustana College in South Dakota and earned All-America honors.
Lacina was an all-metro player in the Twin Cities while at Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul) High School and was born in Mankato. He and Vikings center Matt Birk are co-owners in The Total Athlete, an athletic training and fitness store/gym. |
