How Acquired: Signed by the Vikings as an unrestricted free agent March 21, 2006.
Injury History: Missed the final seven games of the 2006 season after being placed on injured reserve with a broken forearm. Suffered a broken thumb earlier in 2006, but didn’t miss any games as a result. Missed the final two games of the 2002 season with a dislocated right shoulder. Missed two games in 2001 with a shoulder injury. Missed two games in 1998 with a sprained knee. Missed three games in 1996 with a wrist injury.

< 2006: Played in nine games, starting seven, in his first year with the Vikings. Was placed on injured reserved after suffering a broken forearm vs. Green Bay Nov. 12. Finished the season with five carries for 12 yards and 13 receptions for 111 yards.
2005: Served as a lead blocker for Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson, who combined to rush 455 times for 2,201 yards and 26 touchdowns. Richardson ended up with just six carries for 20 yards and caught nine passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.
2004: Was selected to the Pro Bowl as the top fullback in the AFC and led the way for Priest Holmes to have a mammoth season. Helped the Chiefs set an NFL record with eight touchdowns in one game vs. Atlanta. Ended the year with 12 carries for 56 yards and caught 19 passes for 118 yards.
2003: Played in 16 games, starting 10, in a season where Holmes set a NFL record for rushing touchdowns in a season. Had 24 carries for 60 yards and caught 12 passes for 76 yards. Was named to his first Pro Bowl that season – the first Chiefs fullback to earn that honor since Kimble Anders in 1997.
2002: Played in 14 games with 12 starts. Rushed 22 times for 81 yards and caught 18 passes for 125 yards and one TD.
2001: Played in 14 games with eight starts. Was used as the team’s short-yardage rusher and had 66 rushes for 191 yards and a career-best seven touchdowns while catching 30 passes for 265 yards.
2000: His most productive statistical season as a pro, started all 16 games, including five as the primary rusher due to injuries on the team. Set career highs in every statistical category, rushing 147 times for 697 yards and three touchdowns, while catching 58 passes for 468 yards and three TDs.
1999: His first year as a full-time starter, he started all 16 games. He ended the year with 84 carries for 387 yards and one touchdown, while catching 24 passes for 141 yards.
1998: Played in 14 games with one start. Rushed 20 times for 45 yards and two TDs and caught two passes for 13 yards.
1997: Played as a backup fullback in 14 games, rushing two times for 11 yards and catching three passes for 6 yards – but all were for touchdowns.
1996: Played in 13 games as a backup, rushing four times for 10 yards and catching two passes for 18 yards and a TD.
1995: Signed by the Chiefs after being released by the Dallas Cowboys. Played in 14 games with one start and finished the season with eight carries for 18 yards.
