| Biography: |
The Vikings made Shiancoe one of their first signings in the 2007 free-agent season, giving the blocking tight end from the Giants a chance to finally be a receiving threat. Shiancoe was worked out by Brad Childress prior to the 2003 draft and Childress gave him high marks. However, the Eagles drafted L.J. Smith in the second round of that draft, leaving Shiancoe on the board for the Giants to take in the third round. A durable player, he has never missed a game and made 23 starts – typically when the Giants would open the game with a two-tight end set.

2003: Drafted on the third round with the 91st pick of the draft. Played in all 16 games, starting seven of them. He finished the year with 10 receptions for 56 yards and two touchdowns.
College: Played in 30 games for Morgan State, catching 52 passes for 1,001 yards (a 19.3 yard average) and 11 touchdowns. Was named first-team All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference as a senior, catching 25 passes for 510 yards and five touchdowns.
Personal: Has been active in fundraising for Habitat For Humanity’s International Katrina Relief Fund. Served as a professor for the Giants’ “Football 101” and “Football 201” seminars to teach the NFL game to women. Played wide receiver, tight end and quarterback at Blair High School in Laurel, Md.
