| Biography: |
Richard Angulo is a 26 year old tight end from the University of New Mexico, that has bounced around the league for four years, three with Minnesota under Mike Tice, and one season with the Chicago Bears (2006). Angelo has played in eight career games, and has one reception for 11 yards in his career.
Strengths:
Special teams. Angulo is a special teams contributer, and if he's going to make the Jaguars roster, it will be with a special teams contribution, and possibly a past relationship with Mike Tice.
Weaknesses: With one career reception in four seasons, Angulo can't be considered as much of a threat in the passing game.
2005: Active for the final two games, catching one pass for 11 yards vs. Baltimore. Spent seven games on the active roster, but was inactive for five of those. Spent the first nine games of the season on the practice squad.
2004: His season ended before it began, as a knee injury during the summer forced him onto injured reserve.
2003: After being claimed by the Vikings off waivers from St. Louis, Angulo was inactive for the remaining five games in the season. Saw action in first six games with St. Louis, blocking a field goal attempt. Was a seventh-round draft pick by St. Louis.
College: As a senior, named Little All-America third-team selection by The NFL Draft Report, earning honorable mention from the Independent Football Alliance. Started nine games, catching 28 passes for 582 yards (20.8 average) and seven touchdowns. Collected five catches for 143 yards and a 60-yard touchdown against Fort Lewis in final college game. As a junior, appeared in eight games, finishing with 24 receptions for 362 yards (15.1 average) and five touchdowns.
Personal: Born Richard Angulo in Albuquerque, N.M. Lettered in football and basketball at Sandia High in Albuquerque. Occupational therapy major.
